Head of Department, Music, Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, Delta State, Professor Ovaborhene Idamoyibo, who was kidnapped on the 9th of April, 2022, is dead.
Recall that he was kidnapped in Eku, Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State, while he was returning to Abraka after a family meeting in Sapele.
The kidnappers had demanded the sum of Fifty Million Naira (N50, 000,000) as ransom to release the victim, but after negotiations, agreed to collect Three Million Naira (3,000,000), which was paid.
Oasis Magazine learned that he was released on Sunday midnight.
According to sources, those that picked him up said he was met half-dead when he was dropped around a bridge in Abraka.
He was immediately rushed to one Dunflox Hospital in Abraka, where he was given first-aid treatment to stabilize him, but had to be rushed to the DELSU Teaching Hospital, Oghara on Monday after his condition did not improve.
According to a close family relative, he may have died on the way to the hospital because the doctors at DELSUTH, Oghara pronounced him dead after medical checks when they received him for further treatment.
