Constituents of Ohaji Egbema have condemned vehemently and at length the high rise of rascality and disrepute the legislation of Hon Helcus Okoro has brought to the land.
On this urgly development in the area, Okoro Carmelus a councillor in the area and an opinionist is therefore calling on an immediate reversal of the house member, Helcus Okoro.
While Speaking with Pressmen in Owerri, Hon Carmelus insists the major problem facing the area is caused by bad represention and mis-governance of the Legislators.
In his critical analysis on Legislative Misconducts using Legislator Helcus Okoro as case study, the critical analyst hinted that the attitude of some Honourable members of the Imo State House of Assembly are becoming questionable.
This he said affects the meanings of the word “honourable”, having a critical look on the actions of Hon.Okoro Cyraicus Helcus representing the Ohaji / Egbema State Constituency in the state Assembly since 2019 till date.
In his words it is obvious that Hon. Okoro is gradually making a household name when it gets ALLEGED LEGISLATIVE MISCONDUCTS, because within his two years and few months, it seemed that his constituency is inimical to social vices, and also himself has remained a customer to the Nigeria Police Force.
Going by the definition of the word ” Honourable” most legislators in Nigeria, especially this Imo State Ninth assembly, to be precise, OKORO Cyraicus HELCUS who is attracting disreputations to the lawmakers is not supposed to attach the title of Honorable to his name, because he is not worthy of respect or being respectable.
Simple put, the Opinionist Carmelus said “legislators deserving honor and respect should be having or showing honesty and good moral character”
It is also expected that the lawmaker should be fair, proper and not deserving blame or continous criticism.
Okoro Helcus who is the case study of this NEWS ANALYSIS, for some times now is proving to be one among the legislators whose actions and inactions have denoted that he should delete this noble word ” Honorable” from his initials, Carmelus said.
“Because he does not merit it, and since his emergence as the REPRESENTATIVE of Ohaji / Egbema state constitueny in Imo State Assembly, his primary constituency has remained constant violent area.
He frowned at such a height of Misconduct which he said is attracting alot of threats to life and properties of the entire oil producing communities and an embarrashment to the corporate existence of Nigeria.
His emergence is bringing disrepute and not adding value to the economic growth and development of the localities, State and the nation”
Of course, in an environment whereby there are constant trouble, incessant killings, and the total breakdown of peace and orderliness, there are bound to be negative Gross Domestic Products ( GDPs) of which , there is clear indications of it, with the observations of food shortage in the country”
Recall that in some time March 2020 , when Governor Hope Uzodinma’s few weeks Old administration paid condolence visit to HRH, Eze Augustine Iwuogu, it was in the Eze’s palace that the Governor’s convoy was attacked by Helcus Okoro’s kinsmen, said the Opinionist.
In same year, another group alleged to be protesters from his constituency gate crashed, in fact it was a headlog jamn of parties, if not that the governor’s security managed the situation, one wonder what would have being the outcome.

Amara Iwuanyanwu in the governor’s lodge at Owerri just God who saved his colleague at governor”s lodge, with the quick intervention of the State security that apprehened him and send him (Helcus Okoro) to the Imo Police command where he spend some nights in the cell with other criminal inmates, the source hinted”
In his words, from the look of things, it seems that the detention could not cool his head, rather it made him harder by the continous alleged sponsorship and control of Hoodlums in the area”
He added that the recent killings in his home town, Mmahu Autonomous community tells how tough Helcus Okoro chose to be. “Just imagine a lawmaker keeping prison escapees in his domain.
The councillor revealed that the incessant killings credited to one gang leader identified by Helcus Okoro as Osita Ogbiri the leader of de – gbam cult started the killings on February 2008, at the palace of Ezemma, where they killed one Osita Ibuaku and also, in February 7, 2022, Osita Ogbiri who gruesomely murdered another 7 innocent persons who are against their nefarious acts are facts to hold unto.
He added that what distrubs someone is that Helcus Okoro is inconsistant with his statement and as regards to this God forbidden acts.
“He has in many press briefing said that it is CULT WAR and at the same time said that his POLITICAL OPPONENTS want to replace him come 2023 elections, and also that OSITA OGBIRI told him that it is land grabbing issue.
“The problem became more prominent since August 24, 2020 when the IMC Chairman of Ohaji-Egbema Local Government Area Hon. Marcellanous Amadioha under the direction of the state Governor Sen. Hope Uzodinma appointed the Town Union Leaders in the community and named Ezinna Charles Mgbaraho Town Union Leader (PG) among other Executives.
He said that Mr Celestine Kamalu Sagas is a friend to Mgbaraho and supported the above appointment by the order of state government and that was why he was attacked on several occasions by Hoodlums alleged to have mobilized by Helcus Okoro.
The trauma in the minds of the people of the area has kept everyone wondering and doubting the integrity of Helcus Okoro, the source said.
He further lambasted the degree of moral bankrupt of this lawmaker, who he said always rock the honey – pots of his brother’s wife, cousins and their daughters.
“In many occasions, he has been paying to perfect the customs and traditions in order not to be excommunicated, of which would have being a big blow to the Imo State House of Assembly.
On this therefore the source pray that IMHA, his political associates, friends, immediate relations and government agencies should look into the activities of this Ohaji / Egbema House Member and call him to order to save lives.
