Civil Society Group Petitions Imo Chief Judge Chikeka Over Age Falsification

A recognised Civil Society Group (Name withheld) has slammed a dangerous petition on the Chief Judge of Imo State Nigeria, Hon Justice Theresa Chikeka.

The petition was read before the floor of the House at a plenary session of the Imo state House of Assembly Wednesday as 9News Nigeria reports.

While reading the petition before the Honourable members at the hallow chamber IMHA Wednesday afternoon, the Deputy speaker Rt Hon Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu who stood for the Hon speaker Chike Olemgbe told the Honourable members that the Director of Information of a Civil Liberty Group in Owerri Imo State Nigeria has brought the petition to the legislative arm of government of Imo state to take necessary action by the IMHA as 9News report.

The petition though was directed to the ethics, privileged and judicial committee to investigate and bring back their detailed findings in a comprehensive documented report to the IMHA , in two weeks time, two weeks was generally taken by the 10th House IMHA to enable the committee digest the proposed report, carry out proper investigation and make it available for further readings as scheduled.

Imo Chief Judge , Justice Chikeka was accused of falsification of age as petitioned by the civil society group in Imo state Nigeria over false age declaration.

Meanwhile, the two weeks order given to the committee by the speaker of the the House IMHA will determine further deliberation and proper execution of power by the hitting of IMHA legislative gavel.

Recall that inline with section 271, sub-section 4 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, Governor Hope Uzodinma approved the appointment of Hon. Justice Theresa Eberechukwu Chukwuemeka-Chikeka as the Acting Chief Judge of Imo State.

Justice T. E. Chukwuemeka-Chikeka who was sworn-in then succeeded Justice Ijeoma Aguguo whose tenure was elapsed, and ratified by the National Judicial Council.

By her appointment Governor Hope Uzodinma was confident that the Chief Judge would consolidate on our judicial system by bringing her wealth of experience and knowledge to bear.

The petitioner has earlier accused the Chief Judge of the state Hon Justice Theresa Chikeka was of age falsification by the Director of information of civil society group, comrade Ndubuisi Onyemaechi and read by Imo House of Assembly as 9News reports.
