CONFLICT: RETURN EMEABIAM RUBBER PLANTATION TO STATE GOVERNMENT; CONCESSIONING CANNOT DEVELOP OUR AREA- STAKEHOLDERS

Following the controversy bedeviling Emeabiam rubber plantation located in Emeabiam Owerri West local government area in Imo state Nigeria, stakeholders of the community have decried the non development of their area and non employment of their youths in the company that produces a whole lots of raw materials to both the state and the country at large.

This call came as an SOS to the government of Imo state to hasten up actions to take over the plantation to enable the state allocate quantifiable funds to improve both the industry and pay salaries and also develop the area.

A renowned musical artist and a manager of industry, NDAA CHINEKE made this statement @a consultative forum with the elites, business moguls, political and religious organizations and press few hours ago in owerri.

In his words ” H/E Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has done a lot for the community and still be pushing forward in all perspective to attracting government attention to help Emeabiam community.

In her capacity as the wife of Ondo state governor , Her excellency Betty has done great things to empower her people and created employment opportunities for the youths in various capacities.Having invested such a singular effort to bring smiles on the downthroden can also join hands with owerri west stakeholders to develop thier area.

On the development the people are clamouring for, there are no good roads to the plantation that virtually took more than five communities and versed hecters of land, no employment to the youths, no possible royalty is paid to the community account rather the few hands that got close by tricks haved used such opportunities to sabotage the community through dubious means.

9News Nigeria authoritatively gathered that the plantation can only be relived if the state government take over and manage it by the state. This will also attract state attention to develop the area and a lot necessary funds.

Against this backdrop,a consultant concessionaire cannot use his gains and money to develop the community while the people of Emeabiam and Owerri west will continue to loose a lot from the derivatives of the rubber plantation.

Recall that this rubber plantation was one of the golden legacies of the Former Eastern premier, M.I OKPARA.
