On the countdown to the inauguration of the Honourable Elects at various levels of political offices in various states of the federation and the Presidency, Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy Governor have submitted the statements of their assets as the law of the federation demanded.
9News Nigeria reports that Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy are among the first set of public officers to declare their assets before the inauguration proper.
Sanwo-Olu tweeted, “In compliance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that mandates political office holders to declare their assets on assumption and at the end of their term in office, My deputy, @drobafemihamzat and I have satisfied that necessary requirement before we take oath of office.
Sanwo-Olu further thanked Professor S.F Ogundare, the board member representing South West zone, for administering the assets declaration process.
“I also thank Rt. Hon. Taofeek Olawale Abdulsalam, member and Mrs. O Popoola, Lagos State Director of the Code of Conduct Bureau for being witnesses.
Sources revealed that Majority of the Elects are yet to declare their assets before the said date of inauguration but are likely to comply before the swearing -in as scheduled.
