A Non – Governmental Organisation, Dr. Chinedu Umeadi Foundation has distributed food items as well as alcohol – based hand sanitizers to the students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, as part of measures to cushion the effects of COVID-19.
The items donated were, four hundred tubers of yam, four hundred and twenty cartons of noodles, four hundred alcohol based hand sanitizers and ten bags of salt.
Speaking to the 9News during the distribution in Awka, the representative of the foundation, Mr. Osoluchukwu Onwuadi said that the gesture is one of the many ways the foundation is helping the needy and humanity at large, especially at this critical time.
Mr. Onwuadi explained that the foundation focuses on education, youth empowerment, health and poverty alleviation.
Thanking the foundation for bringing succour to the students, the Students Union Government President of the University, Comrade Samuel Jude, represented by Comrade Valentine Keonyegwamshi assured that the items donated will be equitably distributed and prayed God to bless their benefactor.
Dr. Chinedu Umeadi is a native of Abagana, Njikoka Council Area of Anambra state and based in Ontario Canada.
