Nigerian Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known vas Davido, has set August 11 as an exclusive live premiere for his forthcoming album, ‘Oriade’, in London.
The special event will give fans an early live experience of highly and project ahead of its official release.
The OBO crooner made the announcement on his social media platforms, inviting fans to join him for the exclusive showcase.
“London! Join me on Aug. 11 at 02 Forum Kentish Town for a special show.
“This will be the first and only chance to hear Oriade performed live, so if you want to experience the new album before anyone else, tickets are on sale now. I’ll see you there!”, he wrote.
Tickets for the event are expected to be available through designated platforms, with the premiere set to bring together music lovers from across the UK and beyond.
Davido earlier announced to his teeming fans that Oriade, his sixth studio album, would be released on July 31.
The 13-track Oriade is deliberate shift back to his original, high-energy African sound rather than heavily pop-focused cross-overs.
Derived from the Yoruba words “ori” (destiny) and “add” (crown), Oriade translates to “the crowned head”.
According to him, the album, with lead single “I know Who I Be”, is to mark his 15 years in music.
“Over fifteen years ago, I decided to trust something I couldn’t fully explain. I just knew music was my destiny.
“The biggest blessings often come from betting on yourself, even when the destination isn’t in sight yet,”, he said.
The lead single “I Know Who I Be”, featuring South African producers Jazzwrld and GL Ceejay, is already out and gives the first real taste of where this album is headed.
