An American father has been arrested after allegedly leaving his three children between ages 1, 6, and 10 unattended at a McDonald’s while he went to a job interview.
According to local authorities, the incident took place when the man, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, left his children at the fast-food restaurant, presumably believing they would be safe while he pursued employment.
Concerned staff and customers noticed the young children alone and contacted the police.
When officers arrived, they found the children unsupervised and determined that the father had left to attend an interview.
He was later taken into custody upon his return.
The case seems like a situation of the challenges faced by struggling parents trying to balance job-seeking with childcare.
The children were reportedly unharmed and are now in the care of family or child services.
