The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has announced the resumption of lectures and office duties starting Monday, next week.
This is following improvements in the general condition of the city of Maiduguri, Borno State’s capital, after the occurrence of flood disaster that ravaged the city.
The university registra, Ahmad A. Lawan made this known in a circular on Thursday.
This decision comes in sequel to the temporary suspension of activities due to recent flooding that affected the campus community.
It is also noted that major access roads to the institution which were prior closed due to rehabilitation works have now been completed and open for use.
The university management also expressed sympathy for those impacted by the floods and pray for peace and protection against further occurrences.
All other public and private primary and secondary schools are expected to resume on the 23rd this month as that marks the end of the two weeks break established by the Borno State government during the flood.
Relative stability has also returned to the city and most temporary camps have now been closed and victims resettled.
