The Executive Governor of Lagos State Nigeria, His Excellency Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has on the early hours of Thursday and Friday adopted economic collaborations between Lagos, India, Dubai and other Global Partners.

Speaking at the meetings, Sanwo Olu hinted that Manufacturing is the heartbeat of any economy, and as a government that is serious about economic growth and development, supporting partners in this industry is very important to Lagos state and Nigeria at large.

The Governor therefore, inaugurated a new manufacturing factory in Ikeja for Godrej Nigeria Limited, a consumer goods company whose Indian parent company has been in business for over 100 years with over 8000 employees.

Sanwo Olu added that Nigeria and India share similar economic narratives in terms of market size and investment objectives and Godrej’s investment in growing its industrial base in Lagos will reap rewards and open the way to expand its business to other countries in the West African regions.

He maintained that as a government, Lagos state will continue to pursue actions that would eliminate red tapes and regulatory impediments hindering the growth of businesses in the State as we demonstrate our willingness for continued collaboration with the private sector to improve the livelihood of our residents.

More projects like this mean more smiles in Lagos. Each new investor setting up here means a rise in sustainable employment levels. It’s a win-win—we grow together, our people thrive together. Come and invest In Lagos, Sanwo Olu stated.

In addition, the Governor inaugurated the Lagos Office of the Dubai Chamber International which marks a turning point for international trade between Nigerians and the United Arab Emirate.

It is also an affirmation of Lagos’ position as the economic and commercial hub in Nigeria and the West African sub region.

He expressed gladness to join the ‘Doing Business with Nigeria’ Forum; an incredible initiative bringing together minds from Dubai Chamber International, Consulate General of the UAE in Lagos, NACCIMA, and LCCI to foster stronger business ties.

Great discussions were had on enhancing economic collaborations between Nigeria, Dubai and our global partners as 9News Nigeria correspondent reports.

The Lagos Governor did not mince words, while stating that exciting prospects lie ahead as his All Progressives Congress administration will continually pave the way for growth, innovation, and investment opportunities across Lagos Nigeria.
