COVID-19 Update: Wear Face Masks Properly…Obiano
Anambra state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has warned against wearing face masks on the jaw or neck.
The Governor gave the warning during a statewide broadcast after a virtual meeting with members of the state COVID-19 task force at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.
He called on ndi Anambra not to panic over the surge in the number Covid-19 cases in the state, saying this was because of increased testing.
The Governor said that out of the 302 samples collected so far, 230 results have been released, while 72 results are still pending by the NCDC, saying that 53 tested positive, out of which 13 patients have been discharged.
He stressed that Anambra has so far recorded 9 deaths, 31 active cases, with 7 patients still in the Protective care centers.
Governor Obiano, however emphasized that the people that died were confirmed after a post-mortem test on them, saying that it was also discovered that they had underlying ailment being treated in the private hospitals where they died.
He called on ndi Anambra to remain vigilant and observe all safety protocols against Covid-19.
