The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, FNSE, FNATE has described the award to be conferred on him in few days as the ‘Best Performing Governor of the Year’ by Business Day Newspaper as an encouragement to do more.
The Governor has since few years after becoming the Governor received accolades from several reputable organisations including Ebonyians and residents of Ebonyi State for his outstanding performance in the transformation of Ebonyi State.
9news Nigeria recalls that Gov. Umahi was rated the ‘Best Performing Governor of the Year 2018’, the ‘best performing Governor on Infrastructure and Agriculture’ etc.
This time, The Business Day Newspaper singled him out for another prestigious honour which is anchored on his strides in the quick transformation of Ebonyi State.
Governor Umahi while responding to a question filed by the organisation said his view about awards on a governor is that the people of the state are the ideal people to make assessment and confer awards on their governor. “My opinion about awards is that it is the people of the state that should assess you and that has been my position but I think this one is a bit different because it is an organization that is very reputable and it has to do with business.
“I was a business man before becoming a governor. So, I feel good and I am also encouraged” he said.
