An armed man Sodiq Oladele, 27, was arrested at Obasanjo Farms junction, Ota Ogun state on Sunday.

The Onipanu Divisional Police Officer, (DPO), Bamidele Job and his men patrolled the area, Police spokesperson Abimbola Oyeyemi said on Monday.

Oyeyemi said his men flagged down a motorcycle conveying three male passengers.

But rather than meet the Policemen, all three men jumped down and fled in different directions.

The Policemen gave close chase on them and they were apprehended, as the other escaped, while the Policemen kept searching for him.

However, luck ran out on him as the DPO and his men found a black bag containing two locally- made single-barren pistols, a live cartridge and charms, Oyeyemi said.

Upon interrogation, Oladele reportedly confessed that he and the two others were on their way to a robbery operation when they ran into the Police patrol team

According to the Police Spokesman, the suspect will be transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department(SCIID) for further investigation.
