The Executive Governor of Imo State Nigeria His Excellency Hope Uzodinma has thanked the church for their massive support, partnership and prayers to the state government.
The Governor made this statement at a prayer session organized by Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Imo state chapter recently in Owerri.
Uzodinma officially dedicated the “Imo charter of equity” to God while the session was on and commended Imo Council of Elders for standing up for Ndi Imo.
He also appreciated the Elder’s council for establishing a CHARTER of equity for the overall interest of the people and the three Political blocs in the state, Owerri, Okigwe and Orlu zones.
The establishment of Imo charter of equity is targetted at bringing political stability and peace in Imo state as gathered by 9News Nigeria Owerri.
Recall that Owerri zone Elder’s council met few weeks ago to give consent to this Charter likewise other zones to make it a working document.
Imo state House of Assembly has also passed it as a bill to allow the Governorship position be rotatory within the three Political zones of Imo state.
However, it is expected of Owerri Zone to take over the governorship mantle after the second tenure of Uzodinma’s administration after which it will go to Okigwe before orlu will take it again.
9News Nigeria reports that the years of service of the governor was not spelled out but the rotation pattern was well stated. The rotation pattern will benefit the three zones if duly followed as the law has stated.
While reiterating that his government is installed by God to bring Hope and Prosperity to Ndi Imo, he reassured the state that he will religiously adhere to the Dictates of the Charter of Equity as it has been unanimously presented to the government and dedicated to God Almighty for the interest of the generality of Ndi Imo.
Uzodinma therefore urged all political actors to submit to wise counsel and uphold the laid down principles of Charter of Equity for the interest of the state.
While dedicating the Charter Of Equity, the Archbishop of Ecclesiastical Province communion, Archbishop Onuoha, told Imolites to embrace peace, order and love for one another for better developmental strides.
He further applauded governor Uzodinma’s administration for his efforts in massive turnaround of the state and prayed for calm and security in Imo state.
