Allegation Is That, Each Time Imo State Government Runs Live Broadcasts/ Television Programmes , A Whooping Sum Of #8, 000,000.00,M. ( Eight To Ten Million Naira ) Is Doled Out At The Expense Of IBC Radio And Television. This is unimaginable. The Governor Must Hear This.

Nwosu Iyke-Jacobs in Owerri.

The once Clearest radio ,Voice across East of the Niger , Imo Broadcasting Corporation ,( IBC ) comprising Orient TV and Radio FM, once a symbol of excellence is now a shadow of its own , as the establishment struggles coming on air for People.

Sadly this is coming after incessant claims by Imo state governments’ claims of restoring the pride of our own darling radio ” Orient FM Radio and Tv.

Investigations by Imo Field Journalists points accusing fingers on the Imo State Commissioner for Information , Strategy and Public Orientations, Chief Declan Emelumba along side the Director General of IBC, Ms. Ify Onyegbule . Reports are allegedly stating that the duo have disposed vital radio and television equipment without due process.

These actions, sources say, have severely crippled the corporation’s capacity and operational efficiency coupled with poor funding by distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma’s government.

Sources allege further that legacy assets donated by former Governor Dr. Sir Ikedi Godson Ohakim—meant to strengthen IBC’s operations—have vanished under suspicious circumstances. Amongst the missing assets are an Outside Broadcast (OB) van, Hilux vehicle, Hummer bus, Toyota Sienna, Toyota Camry, two radio/TV units, and other critical operational vehicles and equipment.

Sources to Journalists allege that Ms. Onyegbule, acting under Emelumba’s directives facilitated the sale or unauthorized removal of these assets thereby wiping out the legacy of Ohakim’s contributions to the corporation.

Recent challenges confronting the establishment and staff of IBC are ravaging harassments and vandalisation from criminals. According to reports, most IBC staffers have encountered undue assault, thiefing especially during early hours in the course of going to work.

Our Rolving reporters who monitors Imo state government owned media establishments reports the sordid state of Imo Broadcasting service, (IBC) and even the Imo Newspapers , Publishers of Nigerian Statesman.

Ms Onyegbule and Hon Emelumba

The Premises that Houses the two media Agencies are in Comstose as the Compound is now a shadow of itself, Competing with grasses, and Port holes.

The rains have compounded their wahala as the Premises is a good Swimming Pool .The level of flood and the contending grasses relates the true state of Imo state government Owned media establishments.

Reports avail that the workers are now redundant due to erratic electricity Power supply especially with Vandals stealing the Cables.

Efforts by journalists to obtain responses from both Emelumba and Onyegbule were unsuccessful, as calls to their mobile lines went unanswered at the time of reporting.

Meanwhile, IBC Orient TV remains accessible via Startimes on Channel 35, though its operations have become increasingly limited as they are off air most times.

Stakeholders and concerned citizens are now calling for a comprehensive investigation and urgent government intervention to revive the institutions before it becomes completely defunct.

The big question now at the lips of Imolites are suggestive that His Excellency Distn Senator Hope Uzodinma CON,Onwa may have refused shining his lightens to Imo Broadcasting Service (IBC ), apparently to keep patronizing Private Media outfits owned by Friends, and Powers that -be.

Allegations are that the government each time Imo state government runs Live Broadcasts/ Television Programmes , a whooping sum of #8, 000,000.00,M. ( Eight to Ten Million Naira ) Is doled out at the expense of IBC radio and Television. Governor Dr Hope Uzodinma must know these Facts .
