In spite of the existing court order by the appeal court of competent jurisdiction, Senator Athan Achonu was officially announced by Peter Obi as the authentic flag bearer for Labour Party Imo State Governorship Election coming up by November 11 as scheduled by INEC.
Recall that there is a subsisting motion of notice which affirmed Hon. Ikechukwu Ukaegbu as the LP flag bearer for the upcoming November Governorship Election in Imo State Nigeria as earlier reported by 9News Nigeria.
Against this backdrop, the labour Party Imo state went on to announce Senator Athan Achonu after the appeal court has affirmed Chief Ikechukwu Ukaegbu of same labour Party in Imo state Nigeria.
Further outcome of this act by Imo LP is what has kept the eyes of every Imolites at red alert to see what the court of competent jurisdiction will finally decide on who the actual candidate of the party will be.
The Presidential candidate for LP HE Peter Obi in his official capacity handed over the party to Athan Achonu at a flag-off of LP campaign in Owerri Imo state tuesday 22nd August, 2023.
The flag off of Labour Party campaign will be very interesting to battle with other opposition parties having two Guber designated candidates, Athan Achonu and Ikechukwu Ukaegbu respectively at press time.
