The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has officially handed over a confiscated luxury housing estate comprising over 750 duplexes to the Minister of Housing.
The estate, which was seized as part of the EFCC’s ongoing crackdown on illicit assets and financial crimes, is now under the control of the Ministry of Housing.
The government has announced plans to make the properties available for sale to the public in a bid to recover funds and reinvest in critical national infrastructure.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mr. Olukoyede emphasized the EFCC’s commitment to ensuring that stolen assets are recovered and put to productive use for the benefit of Nigerians.
He noted that the agency will continue to collaborate with relevant ministries to ensure transparency and accountability in the process.
The Minister of Housing, while receiving the properties, described the development as a significant step toward increasing access to affordable housing and boosting public confidence in the government’s anti-corruption efforts.
The luxury units will be sold to interested buyers in the coming weeks, with the Ministry expected to outline the terms of purchase and eligibility criteria soon.
