The Senate of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyinba, Kogi State, has expelled six students for gross examination misconduct after they they were found to have rewritten an examine at the private residence of a lecturer.

The students were reportedly sanctioned after the institution established that the examination was rewritten at the lecturer’s residence, contrary to approved examination procedures.

The university Senate also approved the withdrawal of nine other students over poor academic performance and failure to register for two consecutive semesters.

The decisions were among the key resolutions reached at the 167th Regular Meeting of the university’s Senate, held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the university auditorium.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday August 31, 2026 by the university’s public Relations Officer, Uredo Omale.

According to the statement, the university management acted on July 1, 2026, following credible information that a lecturer was coordinating students to rewrite an examination at his residence.

The university authorities added that the disciplinary actions was taken in line with the institution’s regulations and commitment to maintaining academic standards.

The development underscores the growing efforts by Nigerian universities to clamp down on examination malpractice and other forms of academic misconduct.
