Following a high-level consultative meeting held at the Hyatt Regency Etoile in Paris, France, Ndi Imo in the Diaspora, under the auspices of Imo Progressives for Change 2027, hereby issues the following communiqué:
1. Gathering of Stakeholders:Imo State indigenes, stakeholders, and leaders from across the globe convened for a consultative session focused on the future of leadership and governance in Imo State. Participants attended in person and virtually via Zoom. Video messages of endorsement were also received from those unable to join live.
2. Unanimous Endorsement of Chief Charles Orie:After extensive deliberation, stakeholders unanimously endorsed Chief Charles Orie as the preferred candidate for the 2027 Imo State governorship election. He was described as:
• The Candidate of the Diaspora
• A man of integrity, wisdom, humility, and deep connection with the people
• A bridge builder and visionary with a clear understanding of global leadership standards
• A strong advocate for transformative governance and people-oriented leadership
3. Statement of Support:Ndi Imo in the Diaspora expressed their commitment to fully support Chief Orie, assuring him of their united backing once he formally declares his intention to run. The gathering affirmed:
“Together, we move forward. Together, we make history. Together, we say: Yes to Chief Charles Orie — please declare your interest at the appropriate time and run! Yes to Progress!”

Response from Chief Charles Orie:In his remarks, Chief Orie thanked Ndi Imo for their trust and unwavering support, noting: “I am deeply grateful for the love Ndi Imo in the Diaspora continues to show me. Your presence from countries across the USA, Canada, the UK, the EU, Asia, and Australia demonstrates your commitment to the future of our state.”
He reiterated that while the time for political declarations is yet to come, he remains committed to leadership that promotes economic growth, social equity, infrastructure development, and environmental sustainability—values shaped by his experience living in the Diaspora.
