CHRISTIANS AND ANGER (CONT’D)
KINDS OF ANGER
There are two types of anger:
1) GODLY, RIGHTEOUS AND HOLY ANGER
2) UNGODLY, UNRIGHTEOUS AND UNHOLY ANGER
1. UNGODLY, UNRIGHTEOUS AND UNHOLY ANGER
Ungodly anger is anger without a cause (Matt 5:22).
It throws its weight around.
It condemns the soul.
It creates havoc in the family.
It breaks up good relationships.
It creates enmity.
It disrupts the flow of good life.
It dislocates the position of the family.
It destroys the peace and joy of the family.
It is selfish, manipulative, deceptive and evilish to cover its own wrongs.
It is sin and sinful before man and God.
It destroys lives including the victims.
Causes Of Unrighteous Anger
Insecurity and jealousy (Gen 4:5 / 1 Sam 18:8)
Doubt and fear (2 Kings 5:12)
Bad news and unfavourable report (2 Chron 16:10)
When demand for respect seems to be ignored (Esther 3:5)
Adversity (Amos 1:11 / Lk 4:28 / 6:11 / Acts 19:28 / James 1:20)
Anger Can Easily Kindle Into Rage
2 Chron 28:9 / Dan 3:19 / Lk 23:5 / John 10:31 / Acts 7:57 / 22:23

d) Our discretion makes us slow to anger (Prov 19:11)
e) Anger rest in the bosom of fools (Eccl 7:9)
f) Unrighteous anger condemns a man (Matt 5:22)
