The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Professor Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, has warned governors elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) or risk losing their seats on the 2027 general elections.
Yilwatda issued the warning in Jalingo during the official presentation of the APC flag to the Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, who recently defected from the PDP to the APC.
He described the PDP as a “sinking party” stating that remaining in it could jeopardize the political future of its members.
“Envisage that, the PDP will not sink them into a deep ocean, it will destroy their political futures if they remain in the party”
According to him, shifting cultivation is the right thing he has done, shifting from the sinking PDP.
Yilwatda argued that defecting to the APC is not a mistake but a major political victory for the people of Taraba State, as it would enable the state to benefit more from the policies and programmes of the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Mr. Governor, you have done nothing wrong and we welcome you to this biggest house, where I can say proudly that, in my father’s house there are missions that will accommodate even the remnant of PDP left.
“We are giving you a lifeline. The time to come back and be saved and join the biggest ship of Noah, the time is now. Come and be saved, come and be part of the center, don’t destroy your political future by remaining in the sinking ship” .
The APC Chairman further emphasized that the ruling party is the “vehicle of progress”, urging other PDP governors to align with the APC to secure their political future ahead of the 2027 elections.
