President Muhammadu Buhari has commissioned the 11km Mcc/Uratta road in Owerri alongside His Excellency, Gov.Hope Uzodinma.
Commissioning the road, the President expressed satisfaction with the level of infrastructural development in Imo state and pledged his administration support to the Government and people of Imo State.
The Mcc/ Uratta road which is 5.5km dual carriage way traversing through most populous habitations in Owerri capital city which include, Federal Government Estates, State Government Estates, low cost housings and Indigenous communities.
The road formation is undulating with many basins along the alignment making storm water flow control very difficult because some sections need to be tunneled to facilitate flow and discharge thus the dexterity and intricacies associated with its construction frustrated previous contractors and lead to their non-performance and abandonment.
His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma in his beatitude vision and uncommon upheavals tackled the problem headlong with its award to Leo9 Construction Company who has shown dexterity in execution of the Balloon Technology Underground Tunnel to Otamiri.
With the realization of this project, the perennial storm water menace, unaccessibility and its excruciating pains on the citizens and most especially the tendency of blockage to the multibillion Naira Tunnel has been solved.
By this extra ordinary breakthrough, Governor Hope Uzodinma has once again saved the submerged properties of many habitants within the watershed through this project by properly directing and channeling of ravaging storm water flow to appropriate design and constructed channels.
More worthy of commendation is that the hues and cries of bad and unmotorable road is now history. The epoch making ceremony of commissioning the project which held today 14th day of February 2023 is to the glory of God and service to humanity.
