Kwara State Teaching Service Commission, TESCOM, on Monday said it has invited for tests the 9,459 applicants who have successfully completed their online application in the ongoing teachers’ recruitment process.

TESCOM Chairman, Malam Bello Taoheed, disclosed in a statement in Ilorin that the invited applicants were to write Computer-Based Test (CBT) on Saturday 22nd, February 2025.

The Chairman revealed that those called for Saturday’s CBT Test were those who scaled through the first leg of the process.

“A total of 9,459 have been invited. They are those who completed the application process, that is, those who completed the application form and submitted it online.

”They have Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), Bachelor of Science (Education) or B.Sc.(Ed.), or Bachelor of Arts or B.A. Ed., or a Bachelor’s degree in relevant subjects with Education qualifications,” the chairman said.

He added that 26,349 candidates started the application process, but not all of them completed it, highlighting that it was because the system prevented those above the age limit and those without relevant degrees from proceeding to other steps of the application.

“A total of 11,617 completed the application process, but only 9,459 have been shortlisted for the CBT, owing to different yardsticks set on the system.”

”A total of 8,319 (or 87.95 per cent) of the shortlisted applicants are Kwarans, while the remaining 1,140, who make up 12.05 per cent, are non-indigenes.

”Of the 9,459 invited for the CBT, 4,332 applied to teach STEM subjects. “A total of 4,709 (49.78 per cent) of the CBT candidates are male, while the female constitute 50.22 per cent or 4,750, of the candidates.

”Fourty of the shortlisted applicants are persons living with disabilities (PLWD), and the authorities will accord them special care at the CBT centres,” he added.

The chairman said further that the candidates were to visit the portal to choose which of the listed CBT centres that was closest or most convenient for them.

“It is after this that they will be assigned the time of their examination.

“They should print their examination slip from the portal and take same to their centre,” he stated.
