“When my wife, Her Excellency Chioma Uzodinma, received the notice that she would be conferred with a Doctoral Degree (Honoris Causa) from Hezekiah University, Umudi, she humbly remarked that she was still in the process of delivering even greater services to our people.

“I gently whispered to her that the acts of kindness she considered small meant the world to those who benefited from them and even to the society.

Her commitment to empowering women, advocating for the protection and growth of the girl-child, and supporting my service to our dear Imo State have left an indelible mark. Through her initiatives, many lives have been transformed, and the future of countless young girls has been secured.

“It is with immense pride that I commend and congratulate her on this well-deserved Doctoral Degree in Public Administration (Honoris Causa).

“This recognition is not just an acknowledgment of her outstanding public service but also a call to do even more. I have no doubt that she will continue to mentor and support the girl-child, ensuring they soar beyond expectations.

In her brief response, Chief Barr. (Dr.) Chioma Uzodinma, FIMC, CMC
First Lady of Imo State, Founder of GoodHope Women’s Initiative, and Secretary of Renewed Hope Initiative expressed happiness and thanked Hezekiah University Imo State.

In her words, “It was an honour to be conferred with a Doctoral Degree (Honoris Causa) in Public Administration by Hezekiah University, Umudi; the first private university in Imo State, on March 8, 2025.

“Receiving this award on International Women’s Day made it even more special, and I dedicate it to the women of Imo, whose collective achievements far surpass my modest contributions.

“This honorary doctorate is not mine alone; it belongs to every woman who has dared to challenge societal limitations, to every young girl told that her dreams are too ambitious, and to everyone who believes in the transformative power of education and service.

“My journey has never been solitary; it has been shaped by the sacrifices of those who came before me, the courage of women who fought to amplify our voices, and the resilience of those who continue to advocate for equitable representation while uplifting others as they rise.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Senate, Board of Trustees, and Council of Hezekiah University, led by the Chancellor, His Grace, Most Rev. Prof. Hezekiah, OON, JP, for this esteemed honour.

“I also express my deep appreciation to my beloved husband and the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Dist. Sen. (Dr.) Hope Uzodinma, CON, GSSRS, whose support and encouragement have empowered me to serve, to dream, and to drive meaningful change.

This is another feat established by Her Excellency Barr . Chioma Uzodinma in her time as the first Lady of Imo State. On this therefore, #TeamEgbe joins Hon Chief Kanayo Onyemaechi to felicitate with Dr Chioma Uzodinma on her Doctoral Award.
