NSUK student emerges new Nigerian Youth Parliament Majority Leader

A student of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, NSUK, Comrade Ridwan Ahmed Barade has emerged as the Majority Leader of the 6th session of the Nigerian Youth Parliament, NYP.

Barade who represents Nasarawa West District was elected new Majority Leader of the Parliament at its inauguration and maiden sitting held at the complex of the National Assembly, NASS.

Others are Mbaku’esu Lois Istifanus (Nasarawa North) and Sadiq Ibrahim Aliyu (Nasarawa South).

Similarly, Katsina’s Aliyu Idris Zakari was elected to steer the affairs of the Parliament as Speaker, while Barrister Jane Chisom Ikechukwu who represents Anambra Central emerged as Deputy Speaker.

The Nigerian Youth Parliament (NYP), founded in 2008 is the body that oversees the activities of youths in Nigeria.

The NYP, by composition, is a replica of Red Chamber of the National Assembly, and as such, the Parliament is made up of 109 individuals representing all Senatorial Districts in Nigeria.
