Vice-Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rotimi Amaechi, has said only “mad people” would vote for President Bola Tinubu in Edo State in the 2027 presidential election.
Amaechi made the statement during a town hall meeting in Edo state, while criticising the Tinubu administration and urging residents not to support the President’s re-election.
According to him, voting for Tinubu would amount to supporting a president who does not have the interests of the people at heart.
“Only mad people will vote for Tinubu. If Edo people vote for President Tinubu, that means Edo people are mad. If you’re not mad, Tinubu should not win here,” Amaechi said.
The former Rivers State governor also questioned the rationale behind the Federal Government’s plans to construct a new seaport in Ogun State.
“Tinubu just hates you. If Tinubu does not hate you, why is he building a new seaport in Ogun State? What goods are we producing to have many seaports?” he asked.
Amaechi alleged that the project was being driven by financial interests rather than concern for the people.
“It’s not because he likes the Ogun people. It’s the money he will make out of the construction,” he added.
