Former Minister of Aviation and one-time Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Osita Chidoka, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The announcement was made during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday.
Chidoka revealed that he has decided to step away from partisan politics to concentrate on his non-profit initiative, the Athena Centre, which focuses on reforming Nigeria’s political system through evidence-based governance.
“Earlier today, I sent a letter to my ward in Anambra State resigning officially from the PDP.
“I am leaving the PDP, I am leaving politics for some time, and I am focusing on the Athena Centre.”Chidoka stated.
He emphasized his commitment to collaborating with like-minded Nigerians to drive political reforms in the country.
“I will work in concert with other Nigerians who want us to reform the political system to bring evidence-based governance and to support it.
“So, effective today, I am no longer a member of the Peoples Democratic Party,” he concluded.
Chidoka’s decision marks a significant shift within the Southeastern political scene.
