An age long saying in Igbo land asserts that “a patient dog eats the fattest bone”. Whether this position is substantially admissible or not is what this article entails to reveal or unravel.
Patient: according to Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary is defined as “able to accept, tolerate or manage delays, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious”
When individuals are too anxious and desperate to achieve their dreams, one is at liberty to caution such person with; my dear “be patient, your time will come”. This is to calm down the nerves.
On the other hand, “a bee that lacks Adviser is buried with a corpse in the grave”. One of the secrets of success is patient, endurance and focus. This secret is what sustains determined and patient people in life.
Most individuals including politicians battling with destiny is as a result of inpatient. “When a man goes before his God, his destiny slows before him”, (Onuoha, 2021).
Harry Chase once said, “make friends with your enemies; you never can tell when and where to meet them”
On the 17th February 2022, the Imo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be hosting her pride, and special leader, Distinguished Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu (Samdaddy) to a grand civic reception as an Imo Son to herald his position as National Secretary.
The event is expected to usher in thousands of defectors in the party. This is evident that Senator Samdaddy’s position as National Scribe is widely embraced by many across party lines. Such show of joy will mark the beginning of PDP’s fortunes and APC’s down pour.
Members of the national working committee (NWC) of the party are expected to grace the occasion. The event is a test case of Senator Samdaddy’s widely rated contacts irrespective of party affiliations, which in past, had shown green!
As far as Samdaddy is concerned, it may not be out of place or surprising to see leaders and members of other political parties sneak in to share in the joy, as many view the celebrant as a political institution of the 21st century.
Senator Samdaddy, a committed party man, focused, meticulous, charismatic, cool-headed, and stylish in all he does as far as PDP is concerned.
Samdaddy has passed series of humiliations, trials, sabotage and tribulations by his fellow party men who sheerly were said to have betrayed him after benefiting from him heavily and unmerited.
All these unpleasant show of animosity and acrimony did not trigger him to dump PDP for any party, even after much entreaties to jump sheep. This is the real vision of a good and consistent party man!
He has passed through the stage a Greek Philosopher, Aristotle once described as the “Green test” in political relation, yet remains unperturbed, unscratched and unruffled
Notably, Senator Samdaddy has seen it all in a political family he holds at high esteem. It is ironic, surprising and miraculous that a party that claimed to have “suspended and expelled” him barely two years ago is celebrating him today as its hero, exceptional and extraordinary leader.
Today, the stone that was jettisoned, perched with dirt, and rejected has become the Chief corner stone! What only God can do!
Apart from God whose hands featured prominently in this regards, patient, perseverance, endurance and dedication have singled the Amaimo Ikeduru born party leader out for special recognition and honor. Quite emulative!
This is a lesson to our nowadays youths and some inconsistent politicians who “prostitute” from one party to another when the political “food” is ready.
The story of Senator Samdaddy can be likened to the age long tale of “a patient dog eats the fattest bone”. Yes, but same patient dog can be frustrated, discarded, dehumanized and demolished if it lacks focus, direction and determination.
In the words of Starner Brush’ “success is near but the wise accesses it”. While reviewing the days of Senator Samdaddy’s trials, anguish and humiliations in PDP, an impatient person who reason from the perspective of mean men could have concluded that his political life and destiny were off. If men were God!!!
Isaiah says, “surely they shall gather against you; but because the gathering is not of the Lord, thus; they shall scatter”
Destroyers, destiny killers, dream changers and future wreckers gathered to maim, steal, kill and to destroy, but Isaiah 7:7 says, “it shall not stand”
The Bible says, “count it all blessings when trials and tribulations confront thee”. Here, some trials and tribulations can blow one off board if such person is not fortified in the inner and outer spirits. The record of success transcends with the anguish of pains!
This analogy is a clear evidence that some trials and tribulations are good energizers to individuals that are properly equipped with future convictions and assurances.
The story of Senator Samdaddy can be likened to the tale of young David and Goliath of the old. The battle is not of canal or show off pageantry, but a game of the mind, the spirit and the intellect. Who can battle with the Lord…!
Mighty Goliath, a man of valour, boisterous, and spontaneous never knew the power behind young David until he got his own pound of flesh. To tell you who Goliath was, the Bible describes him as a very huge and strong Army who even intimidated mighty King Saul.
Young David did not only delivered his people from Goliath’s embarrassments, but gained half of King Saul’s kingdom for killing great Goliath.
Apart from Senator (Samuel) of Amaimo Ikeduru, the young Samuel of the Bible showed style, empathy and displayed grace and sagacity. No wonder God spoke to him in person directly!!!
There is something special about those bearing the name “Samuel”, is either they are patient, committed and meticulous, or they are simple, charismatic and genuine at heart.
Senator Samdaddy is an evidence of destiny fulfillment in all ramifications. A man who stood the test of time when undergoing internal sabotage, political zoom off and gang up by those who ordinarily, should have stood behind him.
One thing remarkable about Senator Samdaddy is that, he does not count faults, keep malice, witch-hunt or retaliate when the pendulum of power swings towards him.
Senator Samdaddy believes that what will be MUST be no matter the mischievous nature of human beings. He approaches earthly issues with meekness, softness and kindness to avoid injuring individual’s desires.
Sandaddy’s philosophy is hinged on “lets go en masse” and never “I must go alone”. No wonder he commands high level of respect amongst his friends, political colleagues and peers.
A household name in the Nigeria politics; nothing worries him or desperately pushes him to misbehave over a “mere” earthly quest to occupy political positions.
Samdaddy believes in the principle of “Egbe bere Ugo bere”, but frowns at “nke si ibeya ebele; nku kwa ya”. He understands the “jigripokiri” of teaching one how to catch fish and not the other way round.
The truth of the matter is the emergence of Senator Samdaddy as National Secretary of PDP has united the party in the state hence, fulfilled the Biblical doctrine of “when the righteous is in authority”, the people always rejoice.
His disposition of character is indeed what the younger generation of politicians need to excel in the future pursuit. He has changed the old time notion of “if you don’t win them, join them”.
He has displayed contentment and firmness in his choice as a first class politician, having studied Political Science as a discipline at the University.
At a time of his political “oblivion”, Senator Samdaddy became the only lone voice crying in the wilderness, but no one cared to listen to him. Today, all the people that hated and ignored him, are “carnivally” trooping in to catch a glimpse of his testimony.
In Senator Samdaddy, the principle of “success has many friends, but poverty is an orphan” is highly playing out.
For Samdaddy, it is better to be much to merrier, than to be few or allow personal animosity, acrimony and unforgiving spirit to destroy a collective efforts and dreams of a party.
By so doing, we shall be expecting Imo of our collective dreams! Onuoha stated.
