A group, the Movement for the Survival of Plateau People (MOSOP) has called for arrest and persecution of an Islamic Leader, Sheikh Yahaya Jingir over an alleged inciting statement credited to him ahead of the governorship poll in Plateau state.

It would be recalled that Sheikh Jingir, while recently canvassing for support to his preferred governorship candidate was quoted as calling on all the Muslims to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate, Dr Nentawe Yilwatda because for him, that will be a win for Muslims on the Plateau.
In another video which has gone viral on social media, the Islamic leader described some ethnic nationality on the Plateau as killers even as he called on Muslims in Jos North to not vote for PDP.
The Movement for Survival of Plateau People said the statement by the cleric was a threat to the peace being enjoyed in the state, adding that that security operatives should arrest and prosecute him.
While maintaining that the people of Plateau cannot afford to extend their suffering and bad governance brought upon by the APC administration in the last eight years which made them clamor for change of governance in the state.
The group also urged the state government not to fold its hand and watch some people use religion to cause trouble for the state under the guise of politics.
