President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointments of prominent Nigerians to key leadership positions across various strategic institutions in the country.
The appointments, announced by the presidency, reflect the administration’s commitment to strengthening governance and policy formulation.
Former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani from Enugu State, has been appointed Chairman of the Nigerian Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS),in Edo State, the immediate past Deputy Governor, His Excellency Philip Shaibu, has been named the Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Sports.
President Tinubu also approved the appointment of Omobolanle Akinyemi Obe from Ondo State as Director-General of the National Senior Citizens Centre, Abuja, Dr. Segun Aina from Osun State appointed Director-General of the Academic Staff College of Nigeria.
Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim of Ebonyi State, will serve as the new Chairman of the National Merit Award Committee, charged with recognizing and rewarding national excellence.
In the area of international cooperation, Ayodele Olufemi from Kogi State has been named Executive Director (Monitoring and Implementation) at the Nigeria–São Tomé Joint Development Authority, a body overseeing shared resource management between the two nations.
Also from Osun State, Babaranti Ayandayo Rasheed will serve as Executive Director (Finance and Administration) at the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), supporting agricultural sustainability through effective risk management.
For the National Population Commission (NPC), two new federal commissioners have been appointed: Senator Jalo Zarami from Yobe State and Hon. Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu from Nasarawa State.
Additionally, Momoh Jibril from Kogi State has been appointed as a Board Member of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), reinforcing the administration’s drive for housing reform and accessibility.
