Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin Secures Status Quo Injunction Against YouTuber “Very Dark Man

Today, the vacation High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), presided over by Justice Nwosu Iheme, granted an injunctive order in favor of Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin in a defamation case against the popular YouTuber and blogger, Mr. Martins Vincent Otse, known as “Very Dark Man.” The court order restrains “Very Dark Man” from further libelous and defamatory activities via internet videos or posts on platforms such as Facebook and YouTube.

The legal action, filed by Prophet Jeremiah’s lead counsel, Joel Karatu Esq., in July 2024, details numerous alleged defamatory statements made by “Very Dark Man” against Prophet Jeremiah on various social media platforms. The plaintiff claims that these defamatory contents have caused him significant harm, damaging his reputation among his church members and business associates worldwide.

The statement of claim highlighted that the defendant has posted several cyberbullying and libelous videos, severely tarnishing the plaintiff’s image. The lawyer emphasized that Prophet Jeremiah has family, church members, and friends who are active on social media and have alerted him to these damaging posts.

Additionally, the court was informed that while some of the alleged defamatory content is readily available on the defendant’s Facebook and other social media accounts, further evidence will be presented during the trial.

Despite an undertaking by Ademola Oyedoku Esq., legal counsel for “Very Dark Man,” promising that his client would cease all defamatory activities, the court proceeded to grant the injunctive order. The case has been adjourned to August 12, 2024, for a definitive hearing of all applications.
