Jos : Protesters have taken to the streets demanding justice for Ibrahim Pilasar Mbaya, popularly known vas Ibee, the University of Jos graduate who was allegedly tortured to death after being accused of stealing an iPhone 12.
The demonstrators condemned mob justice and called for everyone involved in the killing to be arrested and prosecuted, describing Ibee’s death as a tragic reminder of dangers of jungle justice, insisting that no one should be tortured or killed over an allegation without due process.
According to the protesters, Ibee’s death highlights growing menace of mob violence and the need to uphold the rule of law, stresding that no individual should be subjected to torture or killed based on allegations without a proper investigation and legal process.
The protesters also urged the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and ensure those responsible are held accountable.
They further called for stronger measures to curb mob justice and protect the rights of citizens across the country.
The demonstration adds to growing public calls for justice against mob violence across the country.
