
The Nasarawa State Government has taken over the prosecution of Mr. Timilehim Ajayi, the 32-year-old suspected killer of a 24-year-old Corps Member, Salome Adaidu Eleojo.
This, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Hauwa Samuel Jugbo was in accordance to the powers conferred on her by the virtue of Section 211 (1) of the country ‘s Constitution.
The Attorney-General in the letter addressed to the Commissioner of Police dated March 07, 2025, said she will lead a dedicated team of Law Officers from her Chambers to prosecute the case.
She advised the state’s Commissioner of Police to transmit all the relevant documents and proof of evidence pertaining to the case to her Chambers to enable them continue with the prosecution.
Meanwhile, the suspect, Timilehin Ajayi, had pleaded NOT guilty to the killing of Salome Adaidu Eleojo in January before Justice Simon Aboki of the Nasarawa State High Court sitting in Lafia.
He was charged with one count of culpable homicide punishable by death, contrary Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria.
Salome a serving Corps Member, was murdered when she visited the suspect at his house in the Papalana axis at new karshi in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The case has been adjourned from 17 to 20th March 2025 for accelerated hearing.
