The Super Eagles of Nigeria have surged 12 spots in the latest FIFA Men’s World Rankings, moving up to 26th globally.
The team climbed from 38th following an impressive outing at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, where they finished third overall.
Under coach Eric Chelle, the squad showed tactical discipline, resilience, and consistent from throughout the competition, winning six of their seven matches in the tournament.
Their only defeat came in the semi-finals, when they were edged out by hosts Morocco on penalties.
With this tremendous rise, Nigeria holds 3rd place in Africa, trailing only Senegal and Morocco.
