SUR+WASH simply means Sustainable Urban and Rural Water Supply Scheme and Hygiene (SUR-WASH) in the State. It is a National Programme targeted at National Action Plan for the revitalization of Nigeria’s WASH sector, is aimed at ensuring access to sustainable and safely-managed WASH service by 2030 in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for water.

The Imo State Governor, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma has inaugurated the SUR-WASH steering Committee yesterday April 5th 2022 to pilot the scheme of the Sustainable Urban and Rural Water Supply Scheme and Hygiene (SUR-WASH) in the State.

Addressing the newly inaugurated members, Governor Uzodinma charged them to bring forth their wealth of experiences and skills in the discharge of the task ahead for the benefit of Imo people.

The program which is a National Action Plan for the revitalization of Nigeria’s WASH sector, is aimed at ensuring access to sustainable and safely-managed WASH service by 2030 in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for water.

Meanwhile, Uzodinma made it clear that the government is armed towards the judicious MANAGEMENT of our PARTICIPATION in the pilot scheme of the Sustainable Urban and Rural Water Supply Scheme and Hygiene (SUR-WASH).

I have therefore, charged the committee to bring forth their wealth of experience and skills in the discharge of this assignment for the benefit of Ndi Imo, Uzodinma stated.
