The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy weather conditions over the central states on Sunday morning with prospects of thunderstorms over Abuja, Mambilla Plateau, Lafia, Kaduna, Makurdi and Bauchi.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office (CFO) on Saturday in Abuja also predicted thunderstorms over Ibi, Jos, and Bauchi in the afternoon.
It added that the central states would have day and night temperatures of 26 to 32 and 18 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency predicted that Southern states would experience morning rains over the coastal areas of Lagos, Calabar, Uyo, Port Harcourt and Eket with day and night temperatures of 27 to 32 and 21 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
Thunderstorms will be experienced in Osogbo, Akure, Ado-Ekiti, Obudu, Awka, Onitsha, Benin, Enugu, Abakaliki, Yenagoa, Calabar, Uyo, Portharcourt and Eket later in the afternoon and evening hours.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience cloudy morning with thunderstorms over Kano, Yelwa, Maiduguri, Nguru and Sokoto later in the afternoon.
“The region will also have day and night temperatures of 32 to 40 and 20 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
“The entire country is characterized with moisture-laden winds which are favorable for thunderstorms and rains over most parts of the country in the next 24 hours.” (NAN)
