President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has eulogised the achievements of AfDB President Akinwumi Adesina, who now joins the prestigious list of past awardees such as Nigeria’s Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka; former President of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki, and lawyer-educationist, Chief Afe Babalola.
According to President’s Media aide, Chief Ngelale, President Tinhbh reflected on Adesina’s impactful initiatives to revolutionize agriculture in Africa and enhance food security and highlighted the transformative growth schemes implemented during Adesina’s tenure as the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development in Nigeria.
Acknowledging Adesina’s impeccable track record, unwavering integrity, and significant contributions to leadership and development, particularly in the field of agriculture, President Tinubu underscored the global recognition received by Adesina, including the prestigious World Food Prize in 2017.
President Tinubu extended his best wishes to AfDB President Adesina, expressing hopes for continued success at the AfDB and strength in his dedicated service to Africa and humanity as a whole.
