The ugly incident occurred in the evening of Tuesday 4the July, 2023 in Furaka area of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Wassa, who is a Metal fabricator is reported to be in the habit of habitually beating his wife over minor or major issues.
Trouble started when he returned back home at about 11pm apparently under the influence of alcohol.
Neigbours are said to have heard the woman’s cry for help and intervened, only to see the woman lying motionless on the floor.
Thinking that the woman had only fainted as she usually does when such beatings from her husband occurs, they pacified the man.
But unfortunately, on discovering that the woman was unresponsive and presumed dead, they informed her relatives who rushed to the scene.
The corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) mortuary, while Samson is presently at the police station for interrogation.
