At a seminar organized in Uyo by the Federated Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists – NUJ Akwa Ibom State Council, Dr. Israel Ben speaking as Chairman on the occasion alerted participants at the event on behalf of all Akwa Ibom State students studying medicine and others related courses in the State and outside the State saying Governor Udom Emmanuel has never paid a dime as medical grant to medical students since he took over power as Governor of Akwa Ibom State.
Compared to the two other democratically elected Governors, namely Obong Attah and Godswill Akpabio who paid all the grants even to law students.
Obong Victor Attah paid medical grants to students throughout his eight years in office.
Godswill Akpabio increased the grant and paid all throughout his eight years as Governor of the State.
“But the incumbent Governor Deacon Udom Emmanuel has never paid a dime even for once”, he said.
Dr. Ben submitted by pleading with Journalists to beg Governor Udom Emmanuel for medical students and earnestly plead with him to revisit their request on this matter and pay grants to Medical students.
