Unemployment:PHACODA partners FG on Vocational training of youths

Occasioned by the spate of unemployment situation in the country particularly amongst youths, Promotion of Human Aid and community development in Africa (PHACODA) has disclosed its partnership with the Federal Government of Nigeria with the aim of curbing the scourge.

Recall that in May this year PHACODA a non-profit organisation had disclosed it’s plans to train 2.5 million Nigerians through the acquisition of vocational skills to empower youths in the 36 states of the federation with vocational training commencing with 25 out of 44 available courses.

As follow up to the plan, the organisation through its director, Mr Chidiomimi Angels on Thursday unveiled that it has entered a partnership with the Federal Government under the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

Angel underlined the objective of PHACODA, which he said is to develop a strategic platform where unemployment will be reduced and youths can have a sustainable livelihood through the acquisition of skills.

He pointed out; “We equip youths with practical skills for success; skills that develop their Financial intelligence, entrepreneurship qualities, innovative/creative thinking potentials, leadership capacity, self confidence, and self motivation, using a unique and carefully designed curriculum.

“The benefits of the training experience includes theory, practical and trade after which you will be evaluated and certified by Federal Ministry of Labor and Employment with a diploma certification, this certificate is recognized by International Labor Organisation (ILO), which means you can get jobs abroad, with the Nigerian government, military, and direct entry into any Nigerian universities.

Harping on the significance of the training, Angel said with the help of the organisation’s prospective partners after the training, participants will get a starter pack to begin their career journey, while urging the youths to Join a career revolution which is open to all Nigerian youths between the ages of 15 – 35.

Angel also divulged that at the conclusion of the programme trainees will be evaluated and certified by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment.
