Imo- Governor Hope Uzodinma has taken regimental salute at the Independence Day occasion in Owerri.
The governor while commending Imolites for their Understanding and total solidarity, celebrate Nigerian populace for their steadfastness and understanding in this trying times to upgrade the country.
Uzodinma On behalf of the government and good people of Imo state, heartily felicitate with President Muhammadu Buhari,GCFR, Nigeria and Nigerians on the joyful occasion of the country’s 62nd Independence Anniversary.
He specially celebrated ordinary Nigerians whose incredible resilience and patience in the face of daunting challenges have kept the country moving and also kept hope alive in the unity of the nation.
In his words, “It gladdens my heart on this independence anniversary celebration to note that inspite of all the intractable challenges of the past, Nigerians have remained resolute in their faith in the country”
“I therefore use the auspicious occasion of this anniversary to call on Nigerians, especially Ndi Imo, to continue to support both the federal and state governments in their sincere commitment to re-engineer the nation for a better future for of all.
Recall that governor Uzodinma has improved the state within the space of two years he took charge of Imo state government as reported by 9News Nigeria.
In his relationship with the presidency, Uzodinma has utilized his friendship with President Buhari to attract many Federal projects to better the state.
Recently, the Dredging of ORASHI river to make it the first sea port in Imo state will be highly beneficial to Ndi Imo and sister states when completed.
The presidential approval of 10mega watts from both Nworie and Otamiri river will also enhance development and add to economical value of the state.
9News Nigeria reports that the greatest challenge Uzodinma has is Insecurity which has silenced his massive developmental revolution in the state.
Further improvement on the state security intelligence will give Uzodinma an excellent edge over his contemporaries.
At the Independence day occasion which took place at the popular Hereos Square opposite Imo concord hotel Owerri, the governor promised to make Imo model state where businesses will thrive.
The occasion recorded a huge success with alot of dignitaries in attendance.
