Veterinary Council of Nigeria Inaugurates 12th Board 

The Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN) inaugurated its 12th Board on Tuesday, March 12, 2025, at the Conference Hall of the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development, Abuja. 

The event marked a significant milestone in strengthening veterinary governance and advancing the livestock sector in Nigeria.

The inauguration was presided over by the Honourable Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idih Mukhtar Maiha, who emphasized the board’s crucial role in ensuring professional standards and enhancing animal health services across the country.

Dignitaries at the event included the Honourable Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, and the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS), Dr. Vincent Isegbe.

The newly inaugurated board is expected to drive policies that will boost Nigeria’s veterinary services, improve livestock productivity, and contribute to food security.
