Nigerian Singer, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, better known as Charly Boy, has opened up about his unusual practice of sleeping inside the coffin in his house.

The Septuagenarian artist made this revelation during a recent appearance on episode of The Honest Bunch.

Co-host Ezinne inquired about a previous rumour, asking, “There was a time I heard you had a coffin and go to sleep in it for hours and days. Is that true?

Charles Boy confirmed with a simple “Yes”. Ezinne probed further, asking, “Why?” Charly Boy cryptically replied, “Z!”.

In a 2013 interview, Charly Boy had previously explained his unorthodox habit. He clarified; “Point of correction, I do not sleep in casket, I sleep in my bed, It’s big and comfy.

“I only lay in my casket when I do my meditation because it helps me to be focused. It tells me more about the imminence of death.

“My casket is a reminder. It wakes me up from slumber. It tells me, Guy, you have got little time or no time left, wake up, be creative, and more work”.
