Mavin Records boss and popular music producer, Michael Collins Ajareh, better known as Don Jazzy, has opened up about his fears of marriage and relationships dispite his success and fame.
Speaking in the recent interview with HabbyFX on YouTube, the 42-year-old hit maker reflected on his past experiences and the reasons he remains hesitant about settling down again after his early marriage ended in divorce.
Don Jazzy, who got married in 2003 but divorced two years later, said his views on love and relationships have evolved overtime.
He admitted that while he admires genuine love stories, the negative experiences shared online often make him wary of commitment.
“There are good ones and there are bad ones. My parents were madly in love before my mom died, and that gives me hope. But when you see toxic relationships and people exposing their partners’ dirty secrets on social media, It makes you afraid”, he said.
The award winning producer revealed that financial implications also play a role in his fear of marriage.
He noted that many men lose much of their wealth after divorce, a reality that has made him cautious.
“A man has to lose half of all that he has worked for in his life. All those things used to scare me. The money that I have amassed is for my generation”, he stated.
When asked If he was open to giving love another chance, Don Jazzy said he had dated since his divorce but remains single by choice.
“Na fear, though God’s time is the best. I just want the right person. At the same time, I’m not sure If I’m the right person for somebody’s daughter”, he said.
Reflecting on his personal growth, he admitted that self-discipline and emotional maturity has been key lessons over the years.
“Am I disciplined enough to be with one person? As I’m working on myself, I pray to God to make me better person. When I was young, I was a menace, but now I’m getting older and wiser”, he stated.
Don Jazzy also discussed his belief with God, noting that while his faith remains strong, he has grown sceptical of some modern-day religious practice.
“I believe in God birth, but nowadays I get cautious about churches with how things are now”, he said.
