Spectators at the 94th Academy Award and millions of viewers were left in shock as actor Will Smith and comedian Chris Rock treated everybody to a moment of madness.
The event which held around 1 AM WAT at the Dolby Theatre, Hollywood, took a little twist when Chris made a distasteful joke directed at Jada Smith, wife of the veteran Hollywood actor. Recall that Jada suffers from a kind if autoimmune disorder with the direct effect of hair loss known to as Alopecia. Chris in his usual manner of seeking humour in everything had made a joke to that effect. Whether he (Chris) knew of the health condition of Jada remains subject to question.
At first, it looked like Will like everybody else were in on the humour as the camera showed him laughing. But a look at his wife, Jada says she didn’t find the ‘joke’ funny. That provoked an instant reaction from Will who to the shock of everybody left his chair, walked up to Chris on the stage and left him with an Oscar Worthy slap.In this short clip of less than a minute, Will after the slap walked back to his seat as everybody watched in shock. He took his seat and then yelled, “Keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth!” Unsurprisingly, Chris took the Bianca treatment with grace; giggling with soft laughter and continued with his business.
Ex beauty Queen, Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu seems to have set the precedent on public slapping after dishing out one to the outgoing First Lady of Anambara state(Osodieme), during the inauguration of Prof. Soludo as the Anambara State Governor earlier this month.
