Zuma Foundation Grants Free Medical Services To Masses

Zuma Foundation, a non-governmental humanitarian foundation has granted free services to some members of a community in Plateau State.

This was part of the foundation’s annual program, now in it’s sixth year.

With about 300 beneficiaries, this year’s edition took place in the last weekend of the year 2024, at Mai Adiko Rayfield area, Jos South.

The beneficiaries, mostly women and children were given a one day free medical consultancy, medications and treatments.

Some of the cases consulted includes, diabetes, hypertension, malaria, enteric fever and peptic ulcer among other diseases.

Mental health challenges and conditions were also consulted at the exercise.

The foundation was founded by Dr. Zahradeen Umar Muhammad Abbas, also known as Zuma and co-sponsored by his brother, Pharmacist Luqman Umar Abbas.

According to Dr. Zuma, also a senior registra at Federal Neouro-Psychiatric Hospital (FNPH) Maiduguri, the foundation was founded in 2019, to provide free medical services and assistance to poor communities.

He noted that with support from family, friends and colleagues, the organization has been giving free medical outreach since it’s inception and has reached more than a thousand beneficiaries so far.

“Our targets are the less privileged and vulnerable persons in our communities, and we reached out to 250-300 persons every year, except in 2020 due to lockdown,” Dr. Zuma said.

Zuma is a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and currently the President, Association of Resident Doctors, FNPH Maiduguri.
