9News Nigeria (Owerri)- The Speaker Of Imo State House Of Assembly, Rt Honourable Barrister Anthony Emeka Nduka has enjoined Imo Children to remain disciplined, obedient and loyal to constituted authority, as they are beautiful, young, lovely and godly creatures created by Almighty God, through their parents.
In his 2023 Children’s Day message, Rt Honourable Emeka Nduka advised Children to remain obedient to their parents and constituted authority, while urging relevant agencies to ensure issues and cases of Child-trafficking, Child-Abuse, Child-Labour, etc are drastically reduced, if not completely eliminated.
According to Rt Honourable Nduka, “Children’s Day as celebrated on every 27th May in Nigeria, is dedicated to celebrating Children all over the world, and for youths and adults to appreciate memories of their childhood experiences and adventures. It is equally a Day Religious and Political leaders, Parents and Guardians etc, use to reassess their *Commitment, Dedication, Love, Responsibilities and indeed, Roles* to the upbringing of Children into responsible citizens”.
According to Mr Speaker, “The Imo State House Of Assembly has passed Bills and Motions that have enhanced and will continue to enhance Quality Education to our Children, and this have gone a long way in recording academic successes for them, both in the State and beyond, thereby preparing them for future leadership. Let me at this point, congratulate our brilliant son and student of Government Secondary School Owerri, 16 year old *Jamachi Osuji* , who has the highest JAMB score of 339 out of 400 in the 2023 examination in Nigeria. This feat was made possible due to Bills and Motions passed by the Legislative Arm Of Government, to enhance Quality Education in the State. I therefore encourage other children to emulate him”.
“Also, we have passed Bills and Motions that have drastically reduced the rate of drug-addiction among our children” .
“To this end therefore, I call on our Children to remain disciplined, obedient and loyally focused on pursuing their God’s given talents, dreams and visions, while at the same time shunning crimes, cultism, drug-related habits etc, which have been destroying their potentials and future “.
“On the issue of Child abuse, Child labour and Child trafficking, I respectfully call on relevant agencies to step up their dedication in containing this monster. Our children remain our responsibility, so we must continue to protect them, to the Glory of Almighty God”. Rt Honourable Barrister Anthony Emeka Nduka stated.
