A socio-political pan Igbo youth group under the ageis of Ohaneze Youth Council has allegedly accused Former Anambra governor, His Excellency Peter Obi of playing tricks with his 2023 Presidential ambition.

In a release signed by Igboayaka and made available to 9News Nigeria has warned Peter Obi not to joke with the future of Ndi IGBO by playing hide and seek games in the race.

The Ohanaeze Youth Council however Warned Peter Obi and gave him a 7 Days Ultimatum To Declare For President.

OYC has described the Gov. Peter Obi’s statement over his presidential ambition as very dissatisfactory and unacceptable.

The release continued, “This is even as Mr. Peter Obi had over the weekend, reportedly said he could only declare for President “if PDP cedes their Presidential tickets to Southern Nigeria or make it open for every region.”

Describing Obi’s words as an utter disappointment to the new generation of Igbo extraction, OYC National President, Comrd. Igboayaka O. Igboayaka lamented that “Mr. Peter Obi can’t be engaging in hide and seek politics to ruin the future of new Igbo generation, while mediocres are perambulenting and declaring interest to sink Nigeria the more, Igboayaka warned.

Speaking with newsmen yesterday, Tuesday February 1, in Makurdi Benue, shortly after a special courtesy call to CP Iorbee Ihagh (Rtd) Psc, PMI, the president General of MDZOUGH U TIV, the Tiv Socio-cultural Organization who also endorsed Southeast presidential project, gave Mr. Peter Obi 7 Days Ultimatum to retract his statement and declare for President of Nigeria.

“Over the years the Nigerian political first eleven are relegated to background of the politics and governance while the fourth eleven not even third eleven are governing the country since 56 years.
Gov. Peter Obi must chose to declare for president within Seven days or will be force to quit Aa Igbo.

Comrade Igboayaka reminded Gov. Peter Obi that “the present and future of Igbo youths and Nigeria youths in general are in great jeopardy. The future and destiny of Nigerian youths are being tossed about by mediocres, incompetent and men of impunity who have been in the centre stage of our politics.

“It’s justifiable, fair and morally necessary that PDP presidential Candidate should come from the Southeast. Therefore, Gov. Peter Obi ought to make a bold step and work towards actualising what rightfully belongs to Southeast.

Continuing, he said: “Southeast remains the most supportive Zone of PDP since 1999 till date; Ndigbo have paid ultimate sacrifice to PDP, Ndigbo was nicknamed 5% because of the overwhelming support we gave to Goodluck Jonathan and Atiku Abubakar, in the year 2015 and 2019, respectively.

OYC, therefore, maintained that Southeast would not accommodate either PDP offices or flags in the region, should the party deny cede her Presidential ticket to some other region.

Meanwhile, it could be recalled that OYC had overtime warned the party against the consequences of denying the region her ticket.

“We maintained in our early warning that if PDP deny a South Easterner her Presidential ticket in 2023, none of their office or flag will stand in Igbo land, this is not a threat, but it’s an act and a task Igbo youths must excruciatingly execute in order to keep Nigeria one.

“Gov. Peter Obi is pushing Igbo youths to uncontrollable provocations by his unguided statement, as he used the medium to advise Southeastners to desist from accepting the ticket for vice President, stating emphatically that “any Southeastner that will take Vice Presidential slot of any political party is already a dead rat.”
