US President Trump has congratulated United States Elite Commando Squad that rescued a 27yr old American citizen Philip Walton from Nigeria few hours ago.
Trump made this statement via his official tweet handle @ about 11:52am of October, 31st 2020.
The statement reads; Our country’s brave worriors rescued an American hostage in Nigeria. Our nation salutes the courageous soldiers behind the daring nightmare rescue operation and celebrates the safe return of yet another citizen”
This is a shameful and drastic act found domiciled in the African soil. It is also highly disappionting a disgrace to a country like Nigeria to be used as safe haven for kidnappers and terrorists.It then implies that crime prone is still high after possible efforts put in place by government to curb crimes.
Report has is that the American citizen was abducted in the Republic of Benin where he was working as a missionary and brought to Nigeria for safe keeping while abductors hide to negotiate for ransom.
This singular action by the US military commando squad has posed a serious challenge to Nigeria government whose military cannot stop the continued attack of citizens by the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents.
Therefore, American government expect both the Republic of Benin and Nigeria to appologize for such a terror being caused by kidnappers.
This prescedence set by Elite Commando Squad and American government is worthy of note.
