APC GUBERNATORIAL PRIMARIES: CONGRATULATIONS TO WORTHY FLAG-BEARERS
This congratulatory message was sent to the winners of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primaries held over the weekend in Kogi, Bayelsa and Imo State. The message was contained in a press release signed by the media office of Dr. Mustapha Abdullåhi (DMA), the Convener, The Asiwaju Group (TAG) who also doubles as the Deputy Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) United Kingdom. In a congratulatory message personally signed by the Convener, he described the victory of the three Party plenipotentiaries as deserving and a testament of the acceptability of their personalities by the Party faithful across the States.
It will be recalled that in line with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines, the APC on Friday, April 14, 2023 held its primaries in Kogi, Bayelsa and Imo for the gubernatorial polls slated for later this year. In the said primaries, former Auditor-General for Local Government Councils in Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo was elected as the likely successor to Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello by the Party while His Excellency Timipre Sylva, former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma emerged winners for Bayelsa State and Imo State respectively.
While describing their individual emergence, Dr. Abdullåhi averred that Party delegates and members made the right choices by voting for these personalities. In his words, “APC has become a household name and the Party to beat, therefore, it must by all standards choose people who can deliver the votes in their various States. I have no doubt whatsoever in the choices of these Party bigwigs. I believe as a Party, the elections of these worthy individuals are as good as over.” He affirmed. “What is now left is for the grassroots engagements of the electorates which must be thorough and must commence in earnest. As a Party, we must not lose anything to chances.” He further hinted.
Again, we congratulate the three (3) candidates who are going to fly the tickets of the Party from their various States in the forthcoming gubernatorial elections. We are optimistic and convinced that victory will come to the Party’s way as their emergence reflects the choices of the Party.
